Introduction to Hoa

Hoa (just to be helpful is pronounced “Hwa”) is a trained therapist, social worker and facilitator in various evidence based therapies and parenting models, with a wealth of experience spanning more than ten years, providing direct therapeutic intervention and support to children, adults and families. This support continues to be provided within government, non-government, and private practice settings. Hoa has developed enhanced therapeutic skills, knowledge, and experience within a number of settings such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, domestic violence advocacy role, at risk families and children’s services, and activity based group work. Particular emphasis has been adopted by Hoa to develop her knowledge and utilisation of the Circle of Circle of Security® Parenting™ program (COS-P), with further training in the Circle of Security Intensive (COSi) model. Alongside this focus has also been a commitment to enhancing knowledge, skills, and integration of Mindfulness practice, to enable the facilitating of the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Group via the Mindfulness Training Institute – Australia & New Zealand (MTI).

Underpinning these approaches is a further platform of education and integration of therapeutic models and evidenced based therapies, in the area of complex relational trauma such as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and Developmental Trauma training, Trauma-sensitive Yoga and Mindfulness interventions, and Children & Adolescent specific yoga teacher.

Hoa has made a commitment to continue to develop her knowledge, skills, practice, and effectiveness in key areas of complex relational trauma. This commitment is to ensure not only that Hoa is able to provide a needs led and highly skilled therapeutic approach, but also to guarantee up-to-date research and best practice is available to her client base.

Providing direct clinical supervision and guidance to a variety of professionals ranging from family focused support workers, university students on practice placements, psychologists through to social work professionals, is also embedded in Hoa’s clinical practice.
